Nigel Farage has left his fans disappointed after pulling out of Strictly Come Dancing 2019.
Farage, 55, had been confirmed to join fellow A-listers Catherine Tyldesley and Saffron Barker on the dance floor when the hit show airs in September but has pulled out due to work commitments.
The star, who had previously quipped he hoped the public would see a different side of him when he “unleashed his Cha Cha on national television”, now says his day job as Brexit Party leader must come first.
Nigel told listeners of his popular LBC radio chat show that he still hoped to follow in the “dance steps” of fellow MEP Ann Widdecombe, but that September and October were going to be busy months and he felt he should be “fully focused on Brexit”.
While viewers won’t be treated to Farage’s famous foxtrot this Autumn he will be appearing on BBC Question Time at least once a month and is said to be considering an appearance on Celebrity Bake Off when it returns in spring 2020.
Even with Farage dropping out, the stars lined up for Strictly 2019 look to be stellar. Another radio personality, Anneka Rice, is expected to wow Saturday night audiences and is tipped to make it to Blackpool.
Joining Rice are Olympic gold winner James Cracknell, 47, 50-year old Michelle Visage, Eastenders actress Emma Barton, DJ Dev Griffin, BBC Sports reporter Mike Bushell, and Made in Chelsea superstar Jamie Laing.
